Furry Friends Linky Pary!

I couldn't pass up this linky party! Sandy over at Soaring Through Second is having a "Furry Friends" linky party to link up your furry friends and share what you've learned from them.
I got three furry friends. This is Frankie. He's a 12 year old Holland Lop. He turned 12 last Wednesday which is quite a feat considering rabbits normally live 6-8 years. He's just a bundle of love. He's excited to see me no matter what I feel like or look like and he can always bring a smile to my face. I took this picture one day when my mo and I were in the backyard and she asked if Frankie and ever jumped up in the tree. I said "no." And sure as could be he was in that tree a minute later. Some people say animals don't understand what we say, but I'm not so sure....
We also have 2 kitties we adopted almost 2 years ago. I've posted about them before, so I apologize if I'm repeating myself. They are brother and sister and were found in a field when they were 4 weeks old. He is blind and partially deaf. When they were brought to the shelter, he was going to be euthanized. Did you just gasp? I know. But there was an amazing volunteer who saved his life and said she would keep him if she couldn't find a home for him. I've thought a lot about love and bravery having these two. Stevie can't see anything but is fearless. He will jump and climb even if he doesn't know where it will lead. A great reminder to not be afraid of taking chances. And we figure his sister must have stuck with him in that field because he would have just started wandering. She was very protective of him when we got them. If he cried out, she's come running. Now when we clip his toenails he cries and fusses and she's right there to see what's going on. They are so sweet!

I sure hope you'll link up if you have some furry babies too.
Have a great start to your week!

I've been tagged! You're it now.

Spring Break is over and so is my first week back. I've been blogstalking, but took a little break from posting. It felt weird not be on my computer more. But the time off was certainly nice. My husband and I took a trip to Arizona. We went to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Two places we'd never been. Here are a couple pictures.
Back at school this week I started a weather unit and planned my Open House theme. This year it will be African Animals and I can't wait! A week or so after Open House I'm taking my class on a field trip to the zoo. When I told my class they screamed! Some of my students have never been to a zoo before. Isn't that hard to imagine? It will be so much fun.

During my absence from blogland, I was kindly tagged by these fabulous bloggers:

and

Kaleigh's Klassroom

Seeing that Traci over at Dragonflies in First Grade created this short-cut, I thought it was the way to go. I'm just not sure I can answer all of those questions. I hope my taggers won't mind. It would be great, however, to learn more about you. So consider yourself TAGGED.
Just pop over to Traci's blog and link up. Please leave me a comment letting me know and I'll be over to your blog to visit.
In the meantime, here's my short-cut sheet: (I've been trying to make it bigger for quite a while and can't. Please click on it to see it larger if you need to. Thanks.)
I'm so glad you stopped by!

Easter 2012 Room 7 Style!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Tuesday. I've been checking out your blogs, but this was a busy week! My mom came to school with me Friday to do some fun Easter activities with my class before Spring Break (I have this week off. Woohoo!). One thing we did was The Great Egg Roll. Have you checked out Projects By Jen? I love her online projects and this was a fun one. I think there's still time to get in on the fun! Thursday night my mom and I measured out 30 feet of butcher paper and marked it off in inches so we could measure how far the kids could roll their eggs. One of my students rolled his about 500 inches! Luckily we'd added some blank butcher paper Friday morning and brought the tape measure. Wish I could post pictures, but I'm not supposed to put pics of my kiddos (sad face).
We also stuffed plastic Easter eggs with the word strip I got from Mr. Jones (new awesome teacher/blogger!) at First Upon a Time.  Friday my class had a blast playing that game! On Friday we also painted bunnies with my class. Sadly I forgot to take pictures of the ones my students made and I let them take them home- Boo Hoo! They were cute too! But the picture above is my sample. I got the idea from Deep Space Sparkle. It's a great source of art ideas from an elementary art teacher. Last year my class did the space shuttle project and it was wonderful too. I recommend checking out here website if you're looking for art ideas!

Today I discovered Farley's new "currently" party. I love finding out what everyone else is up too. Can't wait to see what your superpower is!
I just love the bunny. Just can't help posting a picture of my little bunny. His name is Frankie and he's got a superpower- it's living. Rabbits generally live 6-8 years (at least those who live outside), and he's going to be 12 years old this month. We've had him since he was about 4 months old. He's litterbox trained and lives in our living room.
Until we meet again,
